Terms and Conditions

These Terms govern use of the check4me platform. Operator: check4me GmbH, Försterstraße 110, 90441 Nürnberg, Germany. check4me operates solely as a mediation and processing platform. We are not a party to any vehicle purchase and — to the extent permitted by law — provide no warranty or guarantee regarding inspection results, vehicle condition, or third-party content. Our service is a decision aid to help buyers understand what to expect from a vehicle; we do not guarantee any particular condition. The German version of these Terms is legally authoritative for users in Germany.
§ 1 Scope
These Terms apply to all users (buyers and checkers). check4me operates an online marketplace for vehicle inspections. We are not the buyer or seller of the vehicle being inspected.
§ 2 Platform role
The contract between check4me and the buyer covers platform services including organisation and mediation of an on-site inspection by an independent checker. Checkers act as independent service providers, not as employees of check4me. check4me is not the buyer or seller of the vehicle, not an expert appraisal office, and not a party to the on-site inspection service. Inspections and reports are decision aids for buyers to assess what to expect from a vehicle. check4me does not create the impression of guaranteeing any particular technical, cosmetic, or other condition of the vehicle and does not replace the buyer's own purchase decision.
§ 2a Platform-only role; express disclaimer of warranties and guarantees
check4me provides only the technical infrastructure for matching, booking, communication, report submission, and payment processing between buyers and checkers. We do not perform the on-site inspection, assess vehicle condition, or provide purchase advice. To the extent permitted by law, check4me gives no warranty, guarantee, assurance, or undertaking regarding: checker reports and media; vehicle suitability, safety, value, or purchase suitability; availability or qualification of individual checkers; third-party listing or location data; a specific dispute or refund outcome; or uninterrupted platform availability. Package names, verifications, ratings, and profiles are for orientation only and do not constitute a quality or purchase promise by check4me. Mandatory statutory warranty rights regarding check4me's own platform and mediation services remain unaffected. The above disclaimer applies in particular to checker and third-party services and content. Reports, photos, videos, and other inspection content are decision aids only, not a guarantee of condition or freedom from defects. check4me does not warrant that a vehicle is free from hidden damage, accident history, tampering, or other issues not identified or documented during an inspection.
§ 3 Registration
Accurate registration data is required. Accounts are personal. We may refuse or suspend accounts for abuse or security reasons.
§ 4 Packages and pricing
Platform-set prices in EUR (gross). Platform fee currently 20%. Prices for future bookings may change; existing bookings are unaffected.
§ 5 Booking
Contract is formed upon successful payment via Stripe. Checkers have 48 hours to accept; otherwise automatic cancellation and full refund.
§ 6 Buyer cancellation
Full refund before checker acceptance. After acceptance, cancellation only per statutory rights or material grounds.
§ 7 Checker duties
Checkers perform inspections diligently, maintain required verifications and payout setup, and act independently regarding tax and legal obligations.
§ 8 Report and disputes
Buyers may accept or dispute within 48 hours; otherwise auto-accept. Disputes are resolved by check4me moderation. Payouts may be held during disputes.
§ 9 Payments
Payments via Stripe. Checker payouts after acceptance/auto-accept unless blocked.
§ 10 Withdrawal (consumers)
Statutory withdrawal rights apply where applicable. Withdrawal may expire early if the service has fully begun with express consent — separate notice at checkout before go-live.
§ 11 Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
§ 12 User conduct
No misuse, unlawful content, or automated scraping without consent.
§ 13 Liability
Unlimited liability for intent, gross negligence, and injury to life/body/health. Otherwise limited liability for essential contractual duties; cap at booking fee paid (max €500) where permitted. No liability for checker report accuracy except in cases of intent/gross negligence in selection or moderation. To the extent permitted by law, check4me gives no assurance that the platform, checker selection, or a report will lead to any particular outcome. Claims for defects in the checker's on-site inspection service must be directed against the checker, not check4me as platform operator, where permitted by law.
§ 14 Indemnity
Users indemnify check4me against third-party claims arising from their breach of these Terms or law, where permitted.
§ 15 Termination
Users may delete accounts. We may suspend for cause.
§ 16 IP rights
Platform content is protected. Buyers receive limited use of reports for their vehicle purchase.

§ 18 Changes
We may amend Terms with notice; consumers may object within 30 days.
§ 19 Final provisions
German law. Jurisdiction Nürnberg for merchants. Severability applies.
